About Me

Mike and I got married June 9,2006. Before braving children we tried a few pets and consider them our children. We have two cats, Mouse and Salem and 2 ferrets named Mr. Pickles and Moose. We figured if we did good with them, kids would be easy--yea right!! We have an adorable 2 year old, Cheyenne Laura North. She is our pride and joy!! She was born May 31, 2008! So we're busy workin and playing with her!

Family

Families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter.

Love is always patient and kind. It is neer jealous. Love is never boastful or conceted. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take pleasure in other peoples sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to eudure whatever comes.

The past few months have had their trials but we doing good, staying strong as a family and waiting for whatever comes our way!

Helloooooo!!

Yes, yes. I know it's been a while. Well to give a short, sweet and to the point update, Chy is doing fantastic! She now has 6 teeth (well almost, she's currently working on popping two in right now)! She loves to play and do what she wants!! She is developing a cute but demanding attitude and personality, everyone tell me it reminds them of me! :) Chy crawls EVERYWHERE and gets into EVERYTHING!! I'm bound and determined to get her to walk by Halloween though, I know, she'll just be able to get into more things! It's not going to take much to get her to do it though. She's just a bit stubborn and has to do things on her own time! Mike has been able to spend all summer with Chy and I think enjoys being the stay-at-home daddy, although I think he's about ready to go back to work-not to work, but just to get out once and a while. I'm still working away and wishing I was home!!
We finally got Chy's pictures taken for her one year (yup I know she's 16 months old now). And we got some cute ones in her Halloween Costume-She's a lady bug!!

Cheyenne is 1!!!

Cheyenne turned one on the 31st of May! It was a lot of fun! She has been a blessing in our lives from the moment we knew she was in my tummy! She not only keeps us smiling but she brings a smile to everyone she comes in contact with! We are way excited to watch her grow and learn. We love her more than words can express!

The Zoo!!

Cheyenne, Mike, my Mom and I went to the Zoo on May 22nd. Chy hadn't ever been so we were all curious to see how she would react. She seemed pretty excited for the most part with some of the animals but I think the fun part for her was just being in a new surrounding. We rode the train and the carousel as well as saw all the animals. It was fun! We'll probably try and take her back in September or October sometime when the animals are a little more active!

On Sunday we had our monthly Beckstrom Family Birthday Dinner. The lucky birthday kids were our cousin Dave and CHEYENNE!! Chy will turn 1 year old on the 31st. I can't believe it's been a year already, time flew by!! Here are some pics from the party when Chy was opening her presents. We'll have more to come when we celebrate her birthday on her birthday!

How mean am I?

So my mom and I were at Walmart on Saturday and they had a those mechanical rides that the little kids can ride on and I thought it would be fun to let Cheyenne ride on one. Boy, was I wrong. It was sad, yet I couldn't keep myself from laughing. It was a jeep that had a monkey in the passenger seat and an elephant and giraffe in the back seat. I thought she would enjoy playing with the steering wheel as the car went up and down. Well as you can see, this was a very traumatic event!!

Nothin' too new to report

There hasn't been anything too exciting to report lately. Mike has been out of work since March 19th because of his back. He's had problems for almost 3 years after lifting a lawn mower, and now his back is finally saying "Hey, I'm through with manual labor!!! Get a different job and get it now because I quit!" Luckily he doesn't have to have surgery, we found out he has facit arterosis (a fancy way of saying arthritis). He's in physical therapy now for a while and hopefully will be able to return to work by May 1st but it will have to be something besides throwing freight, what, we don't know yet. So all in all it's been kinda fun to have him around so much, he's getting to spend a lot of time with Chy and they both love it. Chyenne finally cut her first tooth on April 8th!!! Yea, finally after 10 months!! And for me, I finish my CLA in 2 weeks!!!!! Then it's Mike's turn to go back to school-he he he he. :) We are happy and happily in love with our family and learning how blessings come in mysterious packages!

International Sportsman's Expo

So last weekend we went to the Sportsman's Expo. It was crowded to say the least, but you'd be surprised how much room people give you when you have a stroller. Chy had a good time, I think. She looked like she was having yelling at people as they walked by and seeing the big stuffed animals. The sad thing is, only one picture came out on my phone :( Oh well!

Caleb is 1 1/2, Hyrum is 5, and Andrew is 3. Cheyenne enjoys having others to entertain her! Andrew loves Cheyenne! He always wants to help with her! We love our boys!

Great-Grandma Dickson

Cheyenne and Mom and Grandma went and visited Great-Grandma Dickson yesterday. She fell on Friday(and maybe had a seizure). She is 90 years old and still tickin'! Cheyenne likes to go visit her because Great-Grandma gives her so much attention!! We wish Great-Grandma well and hopes she gets back on her feet soon! WE LOVE YOU!!

Teething.......

So poor Cheyenne is teething. It's been so tough on her. She seems to get really close to popping out a tooth then......nothing! Poor kid! She's just no so enthused about growing teeth (I don't blame her, I'm not enjoying it either).

Christmas

This Christmas was fun! We had a lot of fun showing Cheyenne how to do things (unwrap presents, play with new toys, etc.). The funny thing is, all we needed to get her was wrapping paper and bows. She is still trying to cut her first tooth so everything goes in the mouth, that includes the wrapping paper and bows. She would get mad if you took them away-she wants to keep them.
Our Christmas morning was unique. We woke up at 6:15am-Daddy couldn't wait to find out what he got from Santa-then the power went out at 6:30. So we(Mike, me, Cheyenne, Grandma, Grandpa and Steph) got to open out presents by flashlight and propane lantern. So, because of that we didn't get any pics but later we took some of Cheyenne with all her opened presents. After we finished our Christmas, Mike, Cheyenne and I drove to Lehi to have the North side Christmas. The only problem with that was it was snowing and had been all night. In WJ we already had 5 inches and it was only 9am. So needless to say, it's a good thing Mike has 4 wheel drive! It took over an hour but we made it safe and sound.
Down in Lehi we had a big breakfast with Mike's side of the family. Great-Grandma Jewel and Great-Grandpa Paul were there as well as Aunt Karen and Aunt Lisa and their families. It was so nice to spend time with everyone. We love you!
